Nigeria’s National Assembly joint committee on petroleum downstream says despite the disappearance of queues in most fuel stations within the federal capital territory, it will still proceed with its investigation into the root causes of the scarcity and come out with recommendations that will help address the recurring problems.
The chairman, senate committee on petroleum downstream, Kabir Marafa said this during a visit by the committee to fuel stations in the federal capital territory.
The lawmakers said they will further investigate the ongoing blame game between marketers and the federal government with regard to the purported increase in the price of fuel.
The committee is to meet with stakeholders in the petroleum sector on January 4, to address the situation.
