Two Nigerians have Already Scored more Goals than Osimhen in 2024

Victor Osimhen is undoubtedly one of Nigeria's best strikers currently playing the game of football. His goalscoring records shows that he has already netted 8 times for Napoli since the beginning of 2024. Meanwhile, there are two Nigerians that have scored more for top flight sides within the period as per Transfermarkt. Who are these goal poachers?

The leading goalscorer among Nigerians in top flight leagues so far this year is Cyriel Kolawole Dessers. This centre-forward has already netted 10 times for Rangers, a Scottish Premiership outfit, in 2024. Eight of these strikes while recorded in the domestic league while the other 2 came in the Scottish FA Cup. One notable fact about this Super Eagles star is that he has not lost any game in which he scored since the turn of the year.

The player that comes closest to this Belgium-born striker is Mbaoma Chijioke. This guy has been credited with 9 goals for Enyimba since the turn of 2024. Unlike Dessers, this Warri-born footballer registered all these strikes in the same competition - Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). Within the period, Chijioke only registered one brace. This was in February when the Aba giants hosted Gombe United. He netted once each in either half as his side beat the visitors 4-0.

Osimhen

For Osimhen, 7 of his goals for Napoli were scored in the Serie A while one was netted in the UEFA Champions League (UCL). It is noteworthy that his UCL goal helped to rescue a point for his side in the first leg of the round of 16.

In an Israeli warehouse, clues about Jesus' life and death

In a cavernous warehouse where  Israel  stores its archaeological treasures, an ancient burial box is inscribed with the name of Jesus. Not THAT Jesus. Archaeologists in Israel say Jesus was a common name in the Holy Land 2,000 years ago, and that they have found about 30 ancient burial boxes inscribed with it. Ahead of  Easter , Israel's antiquities authority opened up its vast storeroom to reporters on Sunday for a peek at unearthed artifacts from the time of Jesus. Experts say they have yet to find direct archaeological evidence of Jesus Christ, but in recent years have found a wealth of material that helps fill out historians' understanding of how Jesus may have lived and died. "There's good news," said Gideon Avni, head of the archaeological division of the Israel Antiquities Authority. "Today we can reconstruct very accurately many, many aspects of the daily life of the time of Christ." Israel is one of the most excavated places on the pla...
